Rural Family Home

Embracing a beautiful wooded site was central to the design of this new family compound. The home is organized into wings connected by glass galleries to blend interior and exterior spaces, break down the building's scale, and create flexible and comfortable spaces for either one individual or the extended family. The forms draw on vernacular barn architecture in the surrounding rural North Carolina landscape as well as traditional timber joinery while maintaining a clean aesthetic.
